If you're new to the whole game chair thing, READ ON. I'll tell you what you need to know about these chairs in general, and this one in particular.

I'm a gamer, say whatever you want to, it's what I enjoy. Therefore, these types of things are important to me. I haven't owned very many of these but of the three that I've owned, this one is far-and-away the best. The first one I owned was a cheap little $30 game chair, just to see if I would get any use out of it. I did. Also it allowed me to see what I needed out of a game chair.

*First, it needs to fold up, (which this chair does.) Because it's not a permanent fixture in the room, FOLDING ALLOWS IT TO BE PUT OUT OF THE WAY, where no one will trip over it when it's not in use.

*Second, it needs to be WIRELESS, (again, this chairs got it,) so that people walking won't be tripping over cables, damaging themselves, and the chair, simultaniously.

*Third, it needs to be COMFORTABLE, AND SUPPORTIVE, (this chair has that in spades.) This is a FULL SIZE CHAIR, so I don't feel like I'm scrunched down into a kids chair. Also, for me, it needs to look nice, STYLISH even, because it's in a common area of the house, and other people have to look at it.

Everything else is icing on the cake. The sound is good, the rumble is nice, it's the PERFECT HEIGHT, and the rockers are positioned perfectly, so you can sit and rock without falling flat on your back.
The manual says not to use the arms for support when getting up and down, but I haven't noticed any frailty to them. You bolt them into the frame with the included hardware, and they're VERY STURDY, AND SOLID. (That's the only assembly.)

The only issues I've had are, (on rare occaisions) the sound sometimes cuts out for a split second, usually, (but not always,) when a sudden, loud noise in the game would play.
Also, the speakers face outward, which I think is odd, and they can annoy the people around you, (especially if, like me, you like it LOUD.) However, if it gets too annoying, the chair does have a headphone jack.
These are the only things keeping me from giving the "X Video Rocker" the full five stars. It has everything, and at a GREAT PRICE. Really, I'd give it a 4 1\2.

We purchased this chair for our son for Christmas. We were looking for a durable and comfortable chair that could withstand a boy's use. The chair arrived and we gave our son the chair for Christmas. When we went to hook up the chair the pictures that came with the instructions only showed the chair being hooked up buy the RGA cables. We have our PS3 hooked up the HD TV through the HDMI cable. Per the instruction the RGA cables were the only way to get the sound from the PS3 or TV to the chair. Our TV does not have RGA audio out. I did some quick research on the internet and came up with the same conclusion on the hookup. We called Hayneedle.com to return the chair for this reason. They took the chair back and offered no assistance. However they did charge us for shipping. Trying to make good on the gift we decided to try a basic chair with a headset. Well what do you know…. On Turtle Beach's website (the headset company were went to purchase) they have set by step instructions on how to let the PS3 give audio output with both the HDMI and RCA cables at the same time. Too bad for everyone except Turtle beach we did not find this out earlier. The chair seemed cool. NEVER purchase Rocker X product or use Hayneedle.com.

The best gaming chair I could find for the money.
It appears solidly built and is comfortable to sit in. The only drawback I see is in the MP3 plug in and the headphone plug in, they feel a little wobbly as if not supported well. I purchased two of these chairs. They are supposed to be able to be plugged into each other from their output to input ports. Doing so the second chair in the series does not have nearly the volume range as the chair receiving the incoming signal. The second chair is muted and does not put out nearly the sound the first chair does. But each chair performs fantastically when on its own individual channel.

The box was delivered on my door step without a required signature. Thank God no one stoled my $179.00 X rocker gaming chair that I order for my son's Christmas gift. Make sure your shipping option requires a signature if you don't want FedEx to drop order on your front step while you are at work.
