The short legs set the height of the table at 18 inches, similar to a train table and great for toddlers (short legs not meant for use with chairs). The tall legs elevate the table to a height of 23 inches and accommodate chairs underneath. Get more from your table by adding a toy storage bin on casters, and optional matching chairs (2 or 4). I can sit on the chairs(we ordered the taller table) and my knees don't hit the table. We can have this table for years to come. Be carefull with markers Some can leave stains, but overall it cleans easy with the Magic Eraser. I ablsolutely love ordering from Hayneedle. [...] The table is also very sterdy. We just got our set and were excited to put it together. We were not excited that a chair was shipped broken, but costumer service is sending a new one (although returning the broken one is a hassle). I knew my kids wouldn't be able to sit with their legs under the table when the short legs were on the table, but the chairs don't even fit under the table on their own (about 1 inch overlap). So now I have a table in the room and four chairs just sitting out because they don't fit around the table. I also wonder how long the rolling cart will last with kids pulling on it every day, but we will see. Overall I like the look of the table and the fact that it was cheaper than some other brands with similar styles. I liked the idea of two sets of legs for different heights, but one set seems to be worthless. I'm very disappointed that the chairs don't fit under the table and that I have to hassle with a broken one. This was an extravagant purchase for us and I'm not nearly as excited about it as I was before.

Just got the shipment on Friday. Very quick delivery. The table is beautiful and the chairs are nice and sturdy too. Our twin girls love it so far and want to sit on it and "study" all the time.
